3 Reasons to Choose Construction Trucks With Aluminum Tipper Bodies

Veronica Leon

With the current boom in the construction industry in Australia, construction companies are in dire need of tipper trucks. However, you must be careful when choosing a tipper truck for your construction needs because any haste will work to your disadvantage. Since there are arguably two main options when selecting tipper trucks, ensure you do your research thoroughly before making a decision. Such research can be hard work, and that is why this article highlights reasons to rent aluminium tipper trucks over steel tipper trucks.

More Driving Miles

As a construction contractor, you can get contracts that require you to deliver building materials in many different areas. Some of the sites can be several hundred miles away. If you plan to make several of these trips, then the last thing you need is a steel tipper truck. Steel tippers are heavy and will, therefore, consume too much fuel and increase operational costs. However, trucks with aluminium tipper bodies are the exact opposite. Since they are lighter than steel tipper trucks, they can pack more cargo and still cover more miles. It allows you to bid for contracts for the supply of construction materials that are hundreds of miles apart. Moreover, you need fewer trucks, which significantly brings down the cost of truck maintenance.

Ease of Repairs

Steel is not only heavy, but it is also thick and can be a problem to work with for most auto shops. For instance, to repair the truck bed of a steel tipper, a mechanic has first to scrape the existing old paint from the surface. It can take hours or even days, depending on the size of the truck. Moreover, cutting through steel require heavy equipment and uses a lot of energy. All these factors add to the overall cost of repairs. Aluminium tipper bodies, on the other hand, are light and can be easily cut with conventional tools. Additionally, most aluminium truck beds are not painted; therefore, you save repair time since no scraping is necessary. Most importantly, the drastic increase in the use of aluminium tipper trucks in the construction industry means that more garages are well equipped to work on aluminium tipper bodies.

Professional, Polished Image for the Business

Currently, the competition gets stiff by the day; therefore, construction contractors need to stand out from the rest — what better way to do so than with a tipper truck? Unlike in the past when tipper trucks were merely for transport purposes, today, the vehicles are considered moving billboards. Since steel is prone to rust, any signs of corrosion will harm your logo and any other information on the truck's body. However, since aluminium does not rust easily like steel, you do not have to worry about preventing corrosion.

Upgrades and Safety Innovations to Heavy Construction Equipment

As a manager of a construction site, you have a lot of liability as well as a responsibility to your employees, and it's critical to take those matters seriously. Hi, my name is Marc, and I used to manage a construction company. A few years ago, I changed courses and starting working as a medical tech in an emergency department. Seeing a lot of injured people prompts me to think of the importance of safety, and in light of my previous experiences, I think a lot about the safety of construction work. I wanted to explore this topic through writing so I decided to start this blog. Here, I plan to focus on upgrades and innovations throughout the construction equipment industry and possibly provide a few extra safety tips as well. I hope you enjoy reading.
